Home buy readiness calculator for India
Wondering am I ready to buy a house? This wizard combines a home affordability calculator, DTI check, stamp duty style closing-cost estimate, and a maintenance fund so first-home buyers can see total cost of ownership — privately in the browser.
FAQs
What is a home buy readiness calculator?
It estimates whether your income, debts, savings, and target property price line up for a home purchase in India — including a fitness score, DTI band, closing-cost estimate, and time-to-ready.
How is the Financial Fitness Score calculated?
The score (0–100) weighs down-payment progress, debt-to-income safety, closing-cost buffer, emergency reserve after purchase cash, and lifestyle spending room. It is a planning score, not a bank approval.
What do Safe, Stretch, and Risk mean?
They are DTI planning bands: Safe under 40%, Stretch 40–50%, Risk above 50% for existing debts plus projected home EMI versus take-home pay. Lender FOIR rules may differ.
Are stamp duty estimates exact?
No. Stamp duty and registration vary by state, city, and buyer category. The wizard uses illustrative metro / tier-2 / tier-3 averages — confirm with a local advisor or your sale agreement.
Is my data stored?
No. The wizard runs entirely in your browser. WebKarya Finance does not require an account or store your answers on a server for this tool.
